When Life Happens Sooner Than We Expect
Celebrate!
Like butterflies bursting through their cocoons, our feet emerge from boots to feel the earth beneath our toes. And green stems push through the soil. Trees are budding, birds are chirping, flowers blooming.
It’s Spring…in March! For those of us who live in cold weather states, this is an unexpected gift. Grace, really. Something to shout about. Do we feel a little cheated on winter? Maybe, but we’re already over it. There’s always next year for snow covered grounds, children on sleds, and hot cocoa in our hands. We gladly receive all this life at a time when we aren’t expecting it.
Easter is just around the corner, and there are signs of resurrection everywhere!
For what was once dead, is now alive. And so we celebrate!
Just ask the one whose whole world came crashing down a year and a half ago. Ask her about new life coming sooner than expected. She’s welcoming the gift and finding joy in it. And the beloved wife who left this world that holds her children and grandchildren. She embraced eternal life sooner than expected, and she’s celebrating in a way we can’t even fathom through mourning.
God is the bringer of all life. The growth outside our windows, the new love that heals us, the promised land of freedom.
This creative God of ours never stops creating. What is he creating in you right now?
May he give us the eyes to see the life he’s continually forming in and around us. May our hands participate in his works of art. May our hearts submit to his creative intentions. And may our lips give him all the glory.
I stand on the brink of new life. I can feel it in my bones. My spirit is willing to welcome, but my flesh hesitates at the change. But forward I will walk. Into his will. Into his purpose. I fling open my arms to receive the life he has for me. Be it increased faith or greater numbers. I say yes to God and the life he’s bringing me sooner than expected.
To celebrate early Spring around here, we’re nesting. Cleaning, organizing, donating, weeding, raking and hatching Easter in our home.
